SOUTH GLASGOW POTTERY AND CERAMICS CLASSES
I now live and work in Ferindonald, Sleat Peninsula on the Isle Of Skye, Scotland, in May 2018 so I won't be running any Glasgow pottery classes in the foreseeable future. I am developing projects on Skye and my new Skye studio will be ready in September 2020.

Have your own ideas? You will develop these. Or bring in a photo of a painting or textile you really like for inspiration. Have fun learning how to make families of objects - through colour, form, texture, or a plinth - be it functional vessels or sculpture inspired by this painting. This method shows you how to think design and explore in depth. It is a creative conversation with your painting and the painter. If you have worked with clay before you will be surprised by your journey and the results and it will change the way you think about and look at paintings or objects. For those of you new to pottery you will learn core skills -such as slab building, coiling, throwing on the wheel and how to translate 2d into 3d, throwing on the wheel. Decorate your designs with slip, sgraffitto, sponge ware, glaze. Each session will introduce a new technique. Please note that pottery class payment is non-refundable.
All materials included in price. Work will be fired for you to keep and take away and must be collected within two weeks of class finish. Classes are in my South Glasgow, Mosspark/Cardonald studio. Max 5 people per class.
Mix and Match Pottery Taster Days: Sunday 14 January 2018, (FULL), Sunday 11 March, 10.30am - 4.00pm (TWO PLACES LEFT) £85.00 Tea and coffee provided. Bring your own lunch. Gift vouchers. Min class size 2 people.
Time to explore. You will take turns at the one pottery wheel and throw cylinders which you will then decorate with coloured clay slip using a variety of techniques -sponge, paper template or paint brush. While the wheel is in use you will learn other pottery skills and make a lovely little curved dish from a freshly pressed tile which you will also decorate. All work will be fired and glazed for you to collect. If you book as a group the price is £162.00 for two people (minimum class size) and £78.00 for each additional person . Bring your own lunch. Max class size: 4. Contact me if you would like to do this workshop on another date for a minimum of 3 people.
The reason I price day workshops for two people or more is that this guarantees the workshop or taster will run. Please note there is a no cancellations policy for gift voucher and pottery taster classes.
All student work must be collected within two weeks of firing as it won't be kept.
Gift vouchers, Day pottery workshops and taster sessions on demand Please note gift vouchers must be redeemed within 9 weeks of issue. Christmas present date of issue is 25 December.
